Yoga Poses for Toned and Sculpted Arms

Down Dog/Dolphin Lifts and Lowers: From down dog, energetically reach your elbows toward one another as you simultaneously lower your forearms to the ground as shown, allowing your elbows to release shoulder-width apart. Pressing into your hands, simultaneously lengthen your arms, lifting your forearms back into down dog. Repeat 10 times. (If this is too intense, breathe in down dog for 5 to 10 breaths and then in dolphin pose for 5 to 10 breaths.)

Dumbbells are commonly used in toning the arms. However, if you are tired of using them or you don’t have one yet, you can opt for yoga poses that are intended for the arms. All you need is a mat.

The bent-armed, one-armed, and forearm side planks are also effective yoga poses that sculpt and define your arms. Try the pose below.

Inclined Plane: Start this pose by sitting with your legs stretched in front of you. Place the palms of your hands on the floor on either side of your body, just behind your buttocks, fingers facing toward your toes. Lift your body upward, raising your buttocks, pushing your hips up and making your body as straight as possible. Let your head hang back and down gently, and keep the soles of your feet flat on the ground, keeping your arms and legs as straight as possible.
